TV watching or online streaming?

 

The trend of streaming services continues;  

Maxdome, Netflix, Amazone prime, iTunes - streaming servcies change the way we watch and use our TV. But what if we completely change to only watching online series and using streaming services? Would it change our community?


Only a few years ago computers started to change the way we search something and that change continues. Today we have multitype ways of using the internet: computers, laptops, phones all of these things are able to let us use the internet and we use this chance. Things like that are helpful but they are also replacing the TV and the remote (which happened years ago with the remote). But why are they replacing the TV? And why do we use this chance of watching series with streaming services rather than continue watching those on our TVs?

Social Media already changed the way we live and it changes all the time; we can chat with each other and with millions of people at the same time, even if we don't know them. We can call each other miles away and even see our faces and those of the people we want to through face timing. We choose our devices differently today and our lifestyle changes constantly. Even the youngest people of us are starting to use social media like Instragram, Twitter or Snapchat. The Internet is even usefull for very yound childs. It's because since Youtube came nearer to the generation of young people, they started to upload loads of videos for very young kids and the parents are able to show them videos of their favourite shows - even when they not at home. And that's one of the main points in watching series online and using streaming services.

If we would ask someone at our school 
"Why do you use streaming services?"
there would be many who'd say it's because they can watch their favourite shows and movies everywhere. And we think it's a really big thing that we are able to do that - and we couldn't imagine living without this possibility either! It is quite a big change for our community to be able to watch what you want, wherever you want. Many years ago that wouldn't be possible and not that easy. If we would ask our parents what they would do with this possibility we don't think they would answer without being surprised about that first! So we can definitley say that this is a really big change for everyone and even the thing that today we can say that we couldn't live without that is unbelievable.

That was a really great sign for the theme addiction. Today we use the Internet for almost everything we want to do. But after using things like Smartphones all the time and everywhere we start missing it when we can't use it or when we aren't able to use it. Many People criticise this ability to use the Internet everyhwere at every time and also a lot of older People think that this would damage our Society. Would it damage our community if we would use the Internet for even more things than that? All in all we wouldn't Change the way we live now anymore because it's way easier for us like this. And to come back to our main theme which is about Streaming we think it's of course connected and it's almost the same Thing as the addiction of the Internet. Because it's Internet too but what does it make so Special to watch the things everywhere at everytime? It's so Special because it of course is something People couldn't imagine a Long time ago. As we said, many People don't use the TV anymore and there is one Special Thing about it we can't do anywhere else.

Let's talk about binge watching. What is binge watching exactly?
Binge watching is when you watch a series right after it got released and don't stop. While binge watching you watch the whole series in the time of 24 hours. Today about 8.4 Million user did this binge race and this is quite amazing. With the TV we aren't able to watch a whole series right after it got released and now we know why we are binge watching and why so many People enjoy that.


After this blog we know a lot more about the People and our Society or community and what they are doing with the possibility to watch series and movies anywhere and anytime. The Internet is crazy, Streaming Services are crazy and our world is crazy. Let's continue doing what we like - even if it's Binge Watching! :)
