From Germany to London

What would change, if I move to London ?

Today we asked ourself the question: “what would change, if we move to london” and that’s the topic I want to talk about today.
When I heard the topic, I thought that then would change a lot, from little things to big things a lot would change. For example The currency would change from Euro to Pounds or the cars there drive on the left side, but I think when you are in England it doesn’t really matter that much, so just if you don’t drive the car by yourself. I speak from experiences because in my school was a project in year eight and there I also took part.
We flew in a big group to England, Yorkshire and there all of us
get a exchange partner or rather a exchange family. Every day we made trips, for two days I went to school there. We saw a lot and also learn a lot. Because of these experiences I can tell you a little bit from my own.
Firstly,  I want to talk about some general Information. When you would move to London first of all the Brexit would make it hard, the Brexit plays a big role in this topic and I could tell you a lot of Informations about it but I better want to talk about some more topics. For example in London you would live in a big City, if you actually don’t knew it, London is a mega City. That also means that there are much more tourist for example than here in Brunswick. Tourist can mean that there is more danger, because there are more people. But a lot of tourists means also that there are many cultures. You can learn so much more about other cultures than here in Brunswick and I think that’s such a positive aspect. I don’t know if you life actually in the City too or in a village, but I life in a tiny village and for me it would be a big difference. Instead of country air and a few people I would expect the city air and countless tourists in London. And if you life here in Germany in a house, in London you would life rather in a tiny flat, because they are very expensive there. Do you ever was in London? If so, then you for sure know that there are a lot of attractions, there is always a lot going on, sometimes there are even famous people, there are great shopping malls and streets and much more views than for example here in Brunswick. It sounds wonderful, does it? But not everything there is good. If  you want to live their you must work, study or prove that you have enough money to live their.
How you can see, the life in London is such different than here in Brunswick. When I would move to London right now, for me would also change a lot in my school life because the school system there is very different. For example wears the pupils there uniforms, which is on one side good I think but on the other side it’s also bad, because when you don’t like your uniform you can’t decide by yourself what you want to wear.
But one aspect which is so positive and why I envy the English pupils is, that the school day there started at 8:45am and before first lesson a register it taken to control attendance, so very relaxed. When I was in England it was so cool because the school day started so late (for us german pupils late) and it was so relaxed. A school lesson in England tooks 55 minutes, so 10 minutes later than here but all in one the school day there is shorter. When my exchange partner was here in Germany for her it was really hard because she must woke up quiet earlier und was much longer in school so you have to be concentrated much longer. Now an Information which shocked me when I heard it was that the school ends there with 16 years, so when I would live in London next year I would be ready with school.     (of course you can go after that to a college or something else). And here I will go 4 years longer to school. Another different in school life is that there isn't a split in school(real, haupt gym) like here in germany. The pupils are divided into 3 groups. In the group a child is in depends on his or her ability to learn. The groups are similar to the 3 groups in Germany (real, haupt and gymnasium). Also a big different which I actually don’t knew is that in London you can’t skip a year or to sit an extra year. Here in germany a lot of pupils use the chance and sit a extra year to make their chances better.
How you can see there are a lot of differences between the life here in Germany and the life in London, I especially talked about the differences for me or for peoples in my age. I think it’s good that there are differences, because if it would be the same it would be boring. Every country has their own manners and habits for example in England the tea-time and that’s good. I think that’s the reason why some people travel that much, because they want to see something new, something special. When I would move to London on one side I would be happy because how you see there are many positive things especially in school, but germany has also good sides and a lot of peoples said that the german language is a hard language, so I’m very thankful that I can speak and write the german language.
How do you think about this theme?
Would you move to London If you could?
